On the left of the photo you can just see a bit of the sign of the Posada Bar which was a water hole of note from the early 1900s or before, until mid 50s. The bar maid in the very early days was a May Jackson and a canon used in the South African war was named after her. ( see Tony Tanser's books, A Sequence of Time and a Scantling of Time) Bob
